Lane M. Jones
Lane Jones is the chief investment officer and a principal of the private wealth management firm Evensky & Katz/ Foldes Wealth Management, in Coral Gables, Florida. He works with individuals and institutions focusing on investment and financial planning issues. Mr. Jones is a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP) professional and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA). He earned his Bachelor of Science in finance with honors from the University of Florida.
Mr. Jones currently chairs the firm’s investment committee and sits on the EKF Board of Managers. He previously served as the chief operating officer of EKF as well as director of operations.
Mr. Jones currently sits on the Baptist Health South Florida Investment Committee, which is responsible for the management of the hospital’s $3 billion investment portfolio, as well as on the foundation council of the Miami Cancer Institute. He also sits on JPMorgan’s RIA Advisory Council. For many years he sat on the executive committee of the Baptist Health Foundation, served as treasurer and chaired their Pediatric Council which focused on Baptist Children’s Hospital and children’s causes throughout the Baptist Health system. He is a member of the CFA Institute and was a founding member of the board of directors for the Miami-Dade County chapter of the Financial Planning Association (FPA). He served as vice president of the Gold Coast chapter of the American Association of Individual Investors (AAII) for four years (’97–’01) and as an advisor to NASAA on the development of state securities licensing exams.
Mr. Jones was a recurring guest commentator on South Florida’s CBS affiliate CBS4 and a part of their “4YourMoney” Team, appearing frequently on local newscasts to comment on current economic and investment topics. He has been quoted numerous times in both local and national media, including the Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times, the Miami Herald, the Sun-Sentinel, the Daily Business Review, Newsweek, Smart Money, Miami Today, and the Nightly Business Report.
Mr. Jones is a lifelong Miami resident and currently resides in South Miami with his wife Macarena and their two children.
